50 hr yin yoga, meditation & Yoga Nidra teacher training
Autumn 2026 | Yin Yoga, Meditation Immersion
Independently led by Jan Wright
A quiet return to stillness, rhythm and the intelligence of nature.
This 50-hour Yin Yoga & Meditation Training is an intimate Autumn immersion designed for teachers and dedicated practitioners looking for a slower and more thoughtful approach.
Held in a light-filled private studio in Exmouth Market, this training invites you to step away from noise, performance and constant output, and into a way of practising and teaching rooted in observation, presence and embodiment.
Rather than constantly trying to correct or push the body, we will explore Yin, meditation and Yoga Nidra as practices of listening; to the nervous system, the breath, the tissues of the body and the way the nervous system, breath and body respond under pressure, rest and stillness.
Over five days together, we will move through long-held Yin practices, guided meditation, Yoga Nidra, philosophy, reflective discussion and teaching exploration in a deliberately calm and spacious environment giving enough time for the practices to actually land, rather than rushing through information.
Why Autumn?
In Daoist philosophy, Autumn marks the shift from outward expansion toward inward refinement.
It is the season of release. A time of softening excess, returning to essentials and creating space for quieter forms of awareness to emerge.
This training has been intentionally placed in Autumn to mirror that transition.
The practices explored throughout the week are designed to support grounding, introspection, nervous system regulation and a deeper relationship with stillness; both within practice and within teaching itself.
Who This Training Is For
This immersion is for:
Yoga teachers wanting to deepen their understanding of Yin beyond choreography and shapes
Practitioners drawn toward slower, introspective and energetically informed practices
Teachers interested in more grounded, trauma-aware and adaptable ways of holding space
Those looking to reconnect with practice in a quieter and more embodied way
Anyone curious about the relationship between Yin Yoga, meditation, Yoga Nidra, Daoist thought and modern understanding of the body
What We Will Explore
Throughout the immersion, we will work with themes including:
Yin Yoga through a functional and Daoist lens
Meditation and Yoga Nidra within Yin practice
Nervous system-aware teaching and pacing
Functional anatomy and the individuality of bodies
Meridian theory, seasonal practice and energetic balance
How the body and mind respond when things become quieter and slower
The relationship between sensation, attention and response
Teaching Yin in a way that feels grounded, inclusive and sustainable
The emphasis throughout the training is not on memorising information or learning a fixed sequence. Instead, the focus is on helping you develop the confidence to teach Yin Yoga safely, adapt practices for different students and understand why you are making the choices you make as a teacher.
What You Will Take Away
By the end of the training, you will have a clearer understanding of how to teach and practise Yin Yoga in a way that feels confident, adaptable and grounded in both experience and understanding.
Rather than relying on fixed scripts or memorised sequences, you will learn how to work with the individuality of bodies, respond to different students and create classes that feel purposeful, spacious and sustainable.
For teachers, this training can help to:
Broaden your teaching offering beyond dynamic styles of yoga
Develop greater confidence working with beginners, older adults and private clients
Improve your ability to hold space, pace a class and work with silence
Deepen your understanding of nervous system regulation and student experience
Create more thoughtful and inclusive Yin classes that support a wider range of bodies
Differentiate your teaching through a deeper understanding of Yin Yoga, meditation and Yoga Nidra
Bring greater depth and balance to existing Vinyasa, Yang Yin and restorative-style classes
Many teachers leave Yin training not only with a new class style to teach, but with a different relationship to teaching itself; one that is less focused on performance and more focused on observation, listening and responding to the people in front of them.
